Health On A Shoestring

I'm no expert or personal trainer. I'm just throwing that info out right now. I don't have a degree in exercise science or nutrition...but I do have a passion for it all. I love learning about being healthy and sharing what I know.  My roommates even started calling me ‘The Health Junky’.
Through my studies I've realized one thing, being healthy can be expensive!  I would be pumped to get a new healthy cookbook, but I would slowly lose my enthusiasm as I read about the different dishes...swordfish...halibut...and I was thinking, okay but in the world of reality I have no idea where to buy such ingredients and I’m pretty sure they will cost a lot more than I want to pay for them!
And don’t get me started on all the wasted money on gym passes.  Yeah, gyms have fun equipment, but who has time in their schedule to drive over to the gym for an hour or two?  I felt like to get my money’s worth out of a pass, I needed to be going for several hours a day!
So as I was looking between complicated recipes and my bank statement I started to get a little discouraged.  And this explains the title of this blog, Health On A Shoestring.  I’ve found out my own ways to be healthy.  I grocery shop on a budget and still make healthy meals.  I find time in my schedule to get a great workout from home.
I am starting this blog to share what I've learned.  I'll give you tips on how to exercise without all of the fancy equipment.  I'll give you quick and easy recipes that call for everyday ingredients and are still good for you!  I'll prove to you that you do have time to take care of your body.  There is no excuse to not live a healthy life.

  1. Yay! I am so excited to read what you blog about because I've felt like since I've gotten married it's been harder to eat healthy because it is expensive! It's cheaper to buy a box of Ramen noodles then to buy salmon and spinach! Anyways... I'm excited to read your ingenious ideas :)
